Education Committee

Alex joined the Giving Circle in 2023 and soon became a member of the Education Committee. In 2025, she stepped into the role of Co-Chair alongside Kathi Albertini. Though relatively new to the Giving Circle, Alex was immediately drawn to the organization’s thoughtful, intentional approach to creating meaningful impact in the local community through both grantmaking and member education.

She values the opportunity to connect with women across the region and to witness the power of collective giving. A lifelong public educator, Alex began her career as an elementary school teacher before becoming a district-wide curriculum coordinator while living in Boston’s Charlestown neighborhood. Education—in all its forms—and its power to advance equity and address injustice continue to inspire her daily work and life. In 2023, after 24 years in Boston, Alex moved to Brighton to return to her hometown and be closer to family.

She lives there with her husband and two sons. Outside of work, much of her time is spent cheering on her children at their activities, especially soccer. She also enjoys traveling pretty much anywhere, reading, playing paddle, skiing at Hunt Hollow, and spending time with friends.
