Volunteer
The Giving Circle is 100% volunteer-driven. Members may choose to serve on any of our standing committees: Grantmaking, Partner, Communications, Membership, Education, and Knowledge Management.
Grantmaking
The Grantmaking Committee’s purpose is to solicit, review and evaluate all grant proposals received by the Giving Circle as part of the annual grantmaking process, and make decisions regarding annual grant awards, subject to review and comment by the Leadership Team and the membership.
Knowledge Management
The Knowledge Management Committee’s purpose is to facilitate the capture, retention, sharing and management of information across the organization to enable learning and enhance the Giving Circle’s effectiveness.
Membership
The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting, welcoming and orienting new members, retention of existing members, planning, coordinating and communicating Giving Circle events, and identifying skills and interests of members for participation in operating committees and other volunteer opportunities with the Giving Circle.
Partner
The Partner Committee’s purpose is to create a communication channel between the RWGC and each of our grantees, so that we can deepen our understanding of their organization and “follow our money” by assessing the effectiveness and success of the programs funded and providing its members with timely feedback on the impact of their dollars.
Communications
The Communications Committee’s purpose is to share important, timely information about the Giving Circle’s activities and mission with members and community stakeholders, and to increase the Giving Circle’s visibility with external audiences.
Education
The Education Committee’s purpose is to create learning opportunities for the membership, and to inform the Giving Circle’s work as grantmakers and community leaders by providing programs and materials on issues and topics related to the Giving Circle’s mission.
