Lorelei Heliotis

Lorelei Heliotis became a member of the RWGC in 2021. She has served on the Grant Making Committee and the Education Committee. In 2015 she retired from her career as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist.
During her career, Lorelei was a clinical mentor for advanced practice nursing students, the coordinator of psychiatric nursing staff development, the coordinator of psychiatric nursing quality improvement, and the psychiatric nursing investigator for major and minor incidents. She was also an outpatient individual, group, and family therapist.
Lorelei taught courses in the graduate nursing program at the U of R. She is the Founding President of the Northwestern New York State Chapter of the American Psychiatric Nursing Association. During the last seven years of her career, she worked in the psychiatric emergency room at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
Since her retirement, Lorelei has dedicated most of her time to her children and grandchildren. For 20 years she enjoyed riding her horse Cruiser and just being around horses. She has a passion for digital photo art. Several of Lorelei’s art pieces have been exhibited at the Bridges Art Gallery at the University of Rochester Medical Center and the Geisel Gallery in downtown Rochester.
