Martha currently serves as Co-Chair of the Knowledge Management Committee, and as such, has responsibility for capturing, storing, and sharing all documents related to the Giving Circle endeavors.

She joined the RWGC shortly after her retirement in 2014 from a 37-year career as a faculty member at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. She immediately put her past experience in grant-writing and grant review to work as a member of the RWGC grantmaking committee, and has subsequently also served as a grantee Partner, and as a member of the search committee for the Hagen Grant.

Martha holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wellesley College, and a Ph.D. in Physiology and Psychology from the University of Washington. In keeping with her life-long love of the outdoors and classical music, she spends her leisure time gardening, canoeing, hiking, practicing her piano, participating in chamber music groups both locally and at summer workshops, and composing.
